Harvest update

Harvest is early this year by more than a week.  We decided to start harvesting this weekend, the weather’s been so good.

But our big harvest party where we invite our friends to share in the fun will be on September 22, 23, and finishing up hopefully, the 29 & 30.

The summer was so hot and dry we thought we might start even earlier, but the drought was broken by a torrential downpour on the 8th.   This pushed the sugar levels down since the grapes soaked up the water.

This weekend we will take off our pinot gris and start on the pinot noir…and a truckload of winemaking equipment is scheduled to arrive on Saturday!

It’s busy but that’s the way we love it.
