Into The Grape Unknown

Accept a favour, seal a friendship.

The remarkable thing about trying to start a major project like a vineyard or a winery is how many helpers appear to save the day when you run into challenges.

My culture and my parents’ culture has always dictated that you should protest whenever someone offers you a favour, even if you really need it.  “Oh no, I can’t have another piece of pie… no really… well ok, if you do need to get rid of it before it gets stale… ”

And then I came across a proverb – Accept a favour, seal a friendship.

I thought about it and appreciated the truth behind it.  So now, when a favour is offered, I smile and thank my friend wholeheartedly.  It is through the exchange of gifts and favours that we draw closer bonds between us.
